November 09 – April 2010 PR & Marketing technology Coordinator -
Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity
As PR & Marketing Technology Coordinator, I have coordinated, led, and designed the marketing, and public relations efforts Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity, which is part of an organization I have been passionately associated with for 20 years. In this role I worked with a strong development team to develop marketing strategies, materials, and budgets. I helped redo the branding of the organization and oversaw much of the implementation of a new website and online volunteer calendar as well as development database. I also wrote and coordinated most of the public relation strategies and had success with print, radio, and televised news.
June 07 – November 09 Creative Director / Interim Deputy Director -
Virginia21 – Youth Advocacy / Lobbying / Non-Profit
As Creative Director, I have coordinated, led, and designed the marketing, and public relations efforts for a statewide advocacy group with chapters at every public 4 year and 2 year college in the commonwealth. Duties of the Creative Director include design work for all lobbying efforts and campus design coordination, website design and maintenance, annual report design, video editing, T-Shirt Design, Press Releases, Writing, coordinating volunteers and events including 4 major signature events, and coordination of technology and new media; such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, MySpace, YouTube, Etc…. One key result of my tenure at Virignia21 was a reorganization of marketing systems that resulted in an annual saving of $35,000 dollars and an increase in capability and outreach. As the Interim Deputy Director, I traveled the state coordinating on-campus events with our chapter volunteers growing our memberships and building new chapters.
March 07 – September 08 Marketing Director – Latin Ballet of Virginia – Ballet and Dance School
As a part-time Marketing Director, I have managed all the design, marketing, and public relations work for the Latin Ballet of Virginia. One of the most well known small ballets and dance schools in the state. I was responsible for creative and advertising initiatives, including; magazine, television, and newspaper ads; performance calendars/posters and play bills, and audio mixing; Website site management, Direct Mail and Email; as well as, logos, brochures, bookmarks, and other graphics.
April 05 – June 09 President / Project Manager – Shockwest LLC – Marketing and Design Firm
As president, I lead a diverse and talented staff of up to eight designers and writers. I was in charge of multiple projects and deadlines. I was a consultant to multiple companies on their marketing needs and direction. I developed all the in house marketing materials. I was principal designer and writer, and I alone was the sales staff. I often worked with short turnarounds with multiple deadlines on shoestring budgets. I can provide a list of most clients and work done for them, unless confidentiality precludes it.

- Developed design/layout/verbiage for the interior design company, proposals, and marketing materials.
- Designed brochures and tradeshow booths for tradeshows, interior design awards, clients, and IFMA.
Dec 01 – Jan 05 Senior Marketing & Graphic Designer – Jacobs Engineering
- Developed design/layout/verbiage for large private and public sector engineering, design, and CM proposals.
- Designed brochures, logos & newsletters for engineering awards, internal groups, clients, etc.
- Created proposal winning covers, custom tabs, and org-charts for billion dollar projects.
May – Dec 01 Communication Coordinator – Jason Foundation & Brain Injury Services of SWVA
- Created a company image and logo for Brain Injury Services of SWVA.
- Designed a brochure from scratch to printer, including all graphics and layout.
- Setup a small business network for the use of a Case Management System.
